So You Think You Can Sit On Your Fat Ass And Make Fun Of People's Dance Moves?

Did anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance? the other night?

I did and let me tell you: I loved every cheesy moment of it. It was glorious! GLORIOUS!

So enthralled was I by the good and very bad dancing that I krumped my way to the kitchen to get some ice cream. Nothing improves terrible television like a bowl of coffee heath bar crunch.

At one point, a lithe dancer with insane blonde extensions and a stripper vibe got on stage, and I cynically said, Oh, that Svetlana, she is about to throw down! And I was right! She was Slavic and she did throw down some kind of pelvis thrusting, overly dramatic performance. Personally, I am rooting for a lot of the boys, the tap girl and the girl who appears to be Filipina. Oh and I love the big dude. He is awesomeness personified.

TA couldnt figure out how so many trained dancers could end up LA. Where do they perform? Is it possible theyre students? So I said, I bet some of them are at CalArts or UCLA, and they work at Disneyland. Or somewhere in Vegas. When I was in school, I knew a lot of dance majors who worked at amusement parks, at casinos, as background filler in opera productions (hey, I did that.) Maybe its not glamorous, but it builds the resume and performance experience.

Where was whiny ole Giselle from ANTM? She would have been perfect for this competition. She lives in Corona. How hard would it have been for her to show up in downtown LA for the auditions? But perhaps she had a crisis of confidence.

My rheumatology appt yesterday went very well. Dr B seemed very happy with my progress, and it made me feel good. I definitely feel the combination of drug and occupational therapy is working. I have more mobility now in all of my joints as well as reduced pain than I had two months ago. I would of course like to stop taking daily anti-inflammatories, but I have to be patient and wait for my body to calm down. All in all, a good appointment. I have to continue with my monthly bloodwork, but I dont have to see her for another 4 months. I take this as a good sign.

Ooh, and bonus good news? I have been given permission to have one drink a week. Woohoo!

Totally unrelated: is this for real? Is it really a Frank Black-created mash-up of the Kelly Clarkson hit?
